Spaghetti Bolognese

This blend of tomatoes and herbs quickly creates a tasty spaghetti bolognese, a family favourite every time!

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 sachet Colman's Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe Mix
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 450g (1lb) lean minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 115g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
  • 250 ml water
  • 400g can tomatoes
  • 275 g spaghetti


  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan and brown the mince and onions. Add the mushrooms and fry for 1-2 minutes. Drain excess liquid.

  2. Blend the contents of sachet with the water and add to the mince. Stir in the tomatoes.

  3. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.

  4. Cook the spaghetti in boiling water until al-dente then drain and serve with the bolognese and top with Parmesan cheese.



The Spaghetti Bolognese seasoning sachet is EVU certified Vegan. For a meat-free alternative, swap the beef mince for veggie mince or lentils with sweet potato cubes.
