Cottage Pie

A seasoning mix with onion and herbs, which quickly creates a rich, beefy cottage pie the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 sachet Colman's cottage pie recipe mix
  • 450 grams lean minced beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 300 ml cold water
  • 3 medium carrots sliced
  • 160 grams frozen peas
  • 700 grams cooked mashed potato

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC, 190ºC fan assisted, Gas mark 6.

  2. Brown the mince and onion in a large pan. Drain off any excess fat.

  3. Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and stir into the mince, add the carrots and peas. Bring to the boil stirring continuously, then transfer to an ovenproof casserole dish.

  4. Spoon the mashed potato over the mince and bake for 30 minutes.
