Beef Stroganoff

This subtle blend of mushrooms and spices quickly creates a creamy beef stroganoff in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 sachet Colman's Beef Stroganoff Recipe mix
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 450g (1lb) lean frying steak, cut into strips
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 115g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 300ml (1/2pint) semi-skimmed milk


  • Heat the oil and fry the beef and onions over a high heat for 5 minutes until browned. Add the mushrooms and pepper.

  • Blend the contents of the sachet with the milk and pour over the beef. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously.

  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes or until the beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring occasionally.

  • Ensure piping hot and serve immediately with rice.



The Beef Stroganoff seasoning sachet is EVU certified Vegetarian. For a meat-free alternative, swap the beef for The Vegetarian Butcher's 'What the Cluck' chicken pieces and mushrooms.
