Chilli Con Carne
A spicy seasoning mix with chilli powder and cumin – Bring a kick to this Mexican classic with Colman’s.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 sachet Colman’s Chilli Con Carne Seasoning Mix
450g lean minced beef
2 medium onions, chopped
150ml cold water
400g can chopped tomatoes
400g can kidney beans, drained
Brown the mince and onion in a saucepan. Drain off any excess fat.
Blend the contents of the sachet with the water and add to the mince, along with tomatoes and kidney beans.
Bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes until thoroughly cooked.
Enjoy with freshly cooked rice.
Why not try:Chilli Burritos
Follow the steps but leave out the kidney beans. Then wrap the chilli mix in warm flour tortillas. Sprinkle over grated cheese and melt under grill. Serve with tomato salsa, guacamole and sour cream. Arriba!
